Following a surge in Covid-19 cases in Delhi, Noida district administration has decided to begin testing randomly selected individuals coming from Delhi in the district.

Hence as part of such testing measures, random Covid-19 testing was organised by Noida administration and health department at Sector 14A Noida Entry Gate near Delhi border.
“We will start random sampling and use a micro-containment strategy to control the spread of the COVID-19 in the highly impacted areas. Due to an increase in the COVID-19 cases in adjacent areas, there shall be random sampling from and amongst the incoming traffic without causing any inconvenience to the commuters,” Noida district magistrate LY Suhas told the media here, adding the traffic between Delhi and Noida would continue to be normal.

“This is being done in order to assess the spread of infection and will help in issuing advisories to employers and organisations, where a large number of people work and commute between Gautam Budh Nagar and adjacent areas,” he added.

Meanwhile, Delhi government has already requested the Centre to allow closing of certain markets in Delhi, where Covid-19 protocols are not being followed. He has also convened an all-party meeting on Thursday to hold discussion on Covid situation in the national capital.
