Efforts of humans scaling Mount Everest started way back in 1921 which makes it 100 years till today, and still, we have people who are continuously working towards achieving this dream. A dream which is becoming much more difficult to achieve over the years. This proves that leadership and management skills are not only limited to CEOs and Chairpersons of organizations and companies, but leadership is a skill which is needed in every aspect of life, be it schools and colleges, government, sports, societies, families, and politics as well.

In coherence with the vision of ‘Developing Ethical Leaders with Entrepreneurial and Global Mindset Striving for Sustainability’, BIMTECH Gr Noida organised the launch of LEAD Program for its PGDM Batch of 2021-23 on Sep 1, 2021. Mr. Kuntal Joshier an accomplished mountaineer who has scaled Mount Everest twice graced the launch
event and delivered an awe inspiring session “Climb your own Everest”.

LEAD-is an experiential course offered by HR Department of BIMTECH. It was introduced to inculcate leadership skills in our students. The acronym of LEAD is Leadership Experience and Attitude Development. It was formally flagged off in 2017 by Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode who is known for his management mantras on leadership.

The event commenced with the welcome address of Dr. H Chaturvedi, Director- BIMTECH. He praised Mr. Kuntal for his hard work and acknowledged his great achievements in life. He also laid emphasis on the applicability of management learnings in not only corporate but in every professional and social role life. He reiterated that one cannot learn management only through books and classroom learning. It is important to get your hands dirty and face your fears in order to challenge yourself and ultimately overcome them.

Dr Chaturvedi reinforced that everyone needs to learn leadership and management attributes through whatever is happening around the world be it warfare, economy, diplomacy, and sustainability. Many management professionals have quoted in their team building and leadership talks, about the importance of being aware of the
surroundings and keeping your ears open.

He stated that Mr. Kuntal Joisher is the perfect example from whom we can learn how to chase our dreams and work hard towards your goal.

Get Inspired and find your own Everest!
