#ReviveRivers : MLA Dhirendra Singh to lead “Save Hindon” Awareness Rally in Greater Noida tomorrow!

In an optimistic attempt to revive Hindon River in Noida-Greater Noida region, various social organizations have combined together to create Awareness for Saving Hindon. In the first part of it a plantation and awareness march is being organized on 17 September 2017 from Tilwada region.

Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh is leading the campaign with support of Active Citizen Team and other social organizations of Greater Noida.

River Hindon an Important Cultural Heritage of the Region

Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh who is also leading this campaign said, “Our cultural heritage has a very important role of rivers. However in modern times, rivers have been grossly misused. In our own district we have a Rainfall fed river named Hindon which has now been reduced to a very bad state”.

Talking of its importance he said, “Hindon crosses through around 6 stats and there are around 1 Crore 10 Lakh people living around it. It is a very sad that many children of Noida-Greater Noida don’t even know that we have a river in the city. It is important for us to save the river for our future generations”.

River Dips No More Purify, Can Give Skin Disease on Contrary:

Speaking at the occasion citizen activist Sunita Vaid said, “Save Hindon is a lifesaving mission. As of present there is 0% oxygen left in Hindon River. Hence it supports no life-system. Approximately 200 industries including 15 Sugar mills and 32 paper mills dissolve their untreated waste in Hindon. This is giving rise to many disease around its bank. Out of 400 villages spread across Hindon, 150 Villages are already affected. Its high time to take some concrete steps for to protect Hindon”.

The organizers informed that around 1 thousand people are expected to take part in tomorrow’s campaign. The team is also aiming to plant atleast 500 trees around its bank.

Member of Active Citizen Team Manjeet Singh, Harinder Bhati, Alok Singh and Rahul Numberdar was also present during the interaction.
