Robbery bid foiled as six criminals arrested following an encounter in Greater Noida

An encounter between police forces and criminals near Chuhurpur Underpass in Greater Noida resulted in arrest of six criminals and recovery of stolen goods together with one car and a bike. The police party received some input regarding movement of some suspected element in the region and tried to corner them near the underpass when the encounter ensued.

Three criminals were shot in leg during the cross fire while three others were arrested while attempting to flee. A Wagon R vehicle loaded with some stolen goods was recovered from the gang. The gang of criminal seem to have been transferring the goods for sale while they were encircled by the police near the underpass.

Following the encounter SP (RA) Suniti said, “Based on our lead the police forces busted this gang of robbers who seemed to have been part of at-least two incidents of theft in the region. The injured have been transferred to the hospital for the first aid and all three criminals are out of danger. The other three have been taken into custody and more details can only be given after the interrogation”.

The recovered material hints at the gang being part of one robbery in Beta-1 plaza in which some construction wire was looted. It is also being suspected that the gang was planning some other heist before they were busted.
