“Run to Vote” voting awareness drive organized by Grads International School in Greater Noida

Greater Noida (9/4/2019) :

Grads International School, Eta-2, Greater Noida, organized a Minithon “Run to Vote: Run for Democracy”   to raise awareness about India’s upcoming Desh Ka Maha-tyohar , the Lok Sabha election 2019, in its adjoining areas. The marathon was held on April 9, 2019, starting from the school’s premises  to its final destination, the District Magistrate’s  (DM) office in Surajpur, Greater Noida, covering around 10 km distance.

 

The marathon was a part of the school’s week-long Voting Awareness Campaign, which included several rallies, oath taking ceremonies, nukkad natak and other  activities  by the teachers and students, under the guidance of their Director Dr. Roya Singh, Principal Aditi Basu Roy and Vice Principal Malaya Paul. With this, the school has become the proud initiator for conducting such physical activity like marathon in Greater Noida. Each major or minor attribute related to the health and safety of all the runners was considered well before starting the run. It was an amazing and energetic sight to witness the enthusiasm of all the runners, who were running with an aim to strengthen the democracy of our country.

 


More than 200 runners of different age groups from 12 years to 60  years, from Greater Noida and Haryana, participated with great zeal and zest, making the run a huge success.

 

Before starting the run, a 15-minutes Zumba session was conducted by the school’s Zumba coach Parul Bainsla and Sonika  to lift the spirit of all the runners. There were four pit stops at a distance of every 1.5 km each, to refuel the energy level of runners with water and energy drinks.  At the end of the run, an engrossing nukkad natak was performed by the students of the school to raise awareness about Voting and its importance.

 

 

A special prize distribution ceremony was held at the DM’s office, in which the first few runners received prizes and medals for their strenuous performance.  Also, there were participating certificates for all the runners.  Khushi Awana grabbed the first position under the girls category, Sachin Bhati came first under the Boys category , whereas Lakshaya from Haryana stood first under the Adults category. The school Principal   thanked all the runners, prize sponsor Decathalon, health partner Shri Ram Singh  Hospital and Heart Institute, Krishna Nagar, New Delhi,  volunteers, teachers and students, for putting up their efforts in making this run a huge success.

 

It was indeed a great run that proudly earned huge accolades from the District Administration and Election Commission office.
