New Delhi, 22nd May 2023: Former Delhi-CM Satyendra Jain was admitted to Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital after he complained of health complications.
Officials informed that the former minister complained of deterioration in his health conditions and that more details are awaited. This comes as the former minister had petitioned the Supreme Court for bail earlier. He appealed the Delhi High Court’s decision to deny his bail application in the money laundering case against him.
The Delhi High Court denied Satyendra Jain’s bail application on April 6. The Supreme Court, indicated that the applicant is influential and can tamper with evidence. At this point, Satyender Jain/applicant cannot be held responsible for failing to meet the dual requirements of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
ED officials arrested him last year on allegations that the ministers had acquired movable properties in the name of various persons from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, which he could not satisfactorily account for.
