New Delhi, 03rd July 2023: After a summer hiatus, the Supreme Court resumed on Monday with a paperless and technologically advanced setup that included free WiFi for advocates, litigants, and others.

Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud said that the Supreme Court had made free WiFi available in Courts 1-5 and will soon be available in bar rooms.

The Chief Justice also stated that there will be no books or papers, but this does not imply that they will not use them. The supreme court’s courtrooms now feature a modern design due to the installation of numerous technology amenities such as larger screens and updated video conferencing equipment.

As part of the Supreme Court of India’s e-initiatives, free WiFi is available to Advocates, Litigants, Media personnel, and other stakeholders who visit the Supreme Court of India.

With effect from July 3, this facility will be provided in the Chief Justice’s Court, Courts Nos. 2 to 5, including the corridor and Plaza in front, both waiting spaces in front of the plaza cafeteria and Press Lounge-I & II.

The facility will be expanded in stages to all Court Rooms and neighbouring spaces, Bar Library-I & II, Ladies’ Bar Room, and Bar Lounge.
