New Delhi, 23/05/2023: Indian Supreme Court Authorities has agreed to hear former Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain’s bail plea on May 26.

The former minister, recently admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital after complaining of health issues, is accused of money laundering through four companies allegedly linked to him. The case was registered against him in 2017 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

A Bench led by Justice Aniruddha Bose agreed to list Jain’s bail plea for hearing on May 26 after senior counsel Abhishek Singhvi, representing Jain, mentioned it for urgent listing on health grounds.

Due to various diseases, Jain has dropped 35 kg and been reduced to a skeleton, according to Singhvi’s testimony at the last hearing. Jain has filed an appeal against the Delhi High Court’s April 6 ruling refusing bail in the money laundering case.
