New Delhi (13/10/2022): The Supreme Court is all set to announce the judgement on various petitions which have been challenging the Karnataka hijab ban order.
The top court bench of Justice Hemant Gupta and Sudhanshu Dhulia will be pronouncing the judgement today.
The Supreme Court had reserved its order on the various petitions which were challenging the upholding of the Karnataka High Court order.
The court heard various pleas against the state’s HC’s judgement upholding the state Government’s decision to direct the educational institutions to prescribe uniforms.
The Hijab case had erupted when a government PU college in Udupi had barred 6 girls from entering the college wearing hijab. This lead to a widespread protest in the state and several other parts of Karnataka.
