Section 144 extended in Noida till May 12

The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Friday extended restrictions under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure till May 12 citing law and order situation over counting of panchayat election votes and some festivals in the coming days, according to an order.
The section prohibits the assembly of four or more people without necessary permission or authorization.
Implementation of section 144 in the district is in addition to already existing weekend curfew, which comes into effect every Friday and will now be applicable till Tuesday morning.
