Noida, (31/3/2019): The inauguration of Aqua Line Metro brings a lot of ease for the travellers between Noida and Greater Noida.

Along with this, the Sector 51 of Aqua Line metro’s connectivity to the Sector 52 Blue line metro station makes it even more easier for the people who have to reach Delhi from Greater Noida or vice versa.

But it is not that easy if we listen to the queries of the residents of sector 51Noida. According to them both the stations sector 51 of NMRC’s Aqua line and sector 52 DMRC’s blue line are constructed on the same plot that is E-1, Sector 51, Noida. Still the name of the Blue Line metro station was kept “sector 52 metro station”, despite the fact that it was built on the plot in sector 51. They have demanded a change in the name of the metro station but the demand got neglected by the responsible authorities.

Ten News reached sector 51 and talked to the General Secretary of RWA of sector 51 Sanjeev Kumar, to know more about this problem. While talking to us he said, “It has to be pointed out here that earlier the name of Sec-51 metro station was in the name of sec-71 Noida but it was changed to Sector-51 on our request as the station was constructed on the land of plot number E-1 Sector 51, Noida. For this our RWA requested to Noida Authority & NMRC for the change and both the authorities considered our genuine request and changed the name of the station. We again requested the NMRC, DMRC and Noida Authority to change the name of sector 52 metro station to Sector 51 metro station in 2015 and till now we have written many letters for the name change of metro station, sec-52, but till now no action has been taken by DMRC, Noida Authority or NMRC”.

“DMRC has named the metro station in Noida on the basis of Heritage of Noida, old places and physical/geographical location, just like Botanical Garden, Golf Course, etc, then why similarly Sec 52 metro station name was not changed to heritage of Noida’s Children’s park, Sector 51”, he added.

He showed us the RTI copies of both the DMRC and Noida Authority in which it is clearly shown that DMRC has handed the matter to the Noida Authority and given the responsibility of resolving this issue. But the same RTI which he sent to the Noida Authority, they don’t even bothered to reply properly and said that “the questions are not relevant and questionable”.

Meanwhile, with no action in the matter by the Noida Authority, the RWA now plans to move to court for further process to change the name of the station. As the residents clearly feels that this is injustice with the residents of sector 51.
