Shah Rukh Khan Tops TIME Magazine’s Readers Poll, beats Prince Harry, Lionel Messi

New Delhi (India), 7th April 2023: After the release and enormous success of his return movie Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan’s fame has once again escalated. The recent Time magazine poll has revealed that his revival has not been exclusive to India.

In the magazine’s annual TIME100 readers’ vote, Shah Rukh outperformed sports legends Lionel Messi and Serena Williams as well as business titans Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.

The Time magazine publishes a list of the 100 most important persons in the world each year. Before that, the publication conducts the TIME100 survey, in which readers select the persons they believe should be included on the list of the most influential people. This time, more than 1.2 million people participated in the online survey.

Shah Rukh won the poll, receiving 4% of the total votes, according to a statement released by the well-known American magazine on Friday morning. (around 50,000 votes in all).

The statement praised Shah Rukh as “arguably India’s most famous actor and an international icon in his own right,” noting that his most recent movie, Pathaan, became a $130 million global smash. (Rs 1049 crore).

Iranian women protesting for more liberties in their country took second place in the poll with 3% of the vote. Third place was earned by healthcare workers, who received 2% of the vote.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, who each received about 1.9% of the overall vote, took the next two spots. With 1.8% of all votes, football sensation Lionel Messi completed the top five.

According to Time, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the owner of Twitter, is on the list, it also includes Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, tennis legend Serena Williams, Michelle Yeoh, this year’s Best Actress Oscar winner, and Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
