Shaheen Bagh Live : Agitators continues to block Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch

New Delhi (14/01/2020): Protest that began on 15th December at Delhi’s iconic Shaheen Bagh, has now almost reached a month. Hundreds of agitators are still present at Shaheen Bagh and have blocked the road connecting Delhi and Noida.

Due to this blockage, Delhi-NCR residents are facing problems after the main road connecting Delhi, Noida and Gurugram has been blocked by agitators, these protesters are still resisting to step back from this massive protest at Shaheen Bagh which is getting viral all over the globe.

Ten News had a chat with the old ladies who are getting viral after the commencement of protest at Shaheen Bagh. One 70+ aged lady said, ‘what happened in Assam, clearly depicts what’s going to happen here. We are not going to submit our papers at any cost, whether we have it or not. We don’t need to prove our citizenship as we are all living here since independence and even before that.’

Earlier today, Delhi High Court disposed of a petition seeking directions to the police to open Kalindi Kunj Shaheen Bagh stretch which has been closed since December 15, due to ongoing protests against the Citizenship Act.

Hearing the petition today, seeking to withdraw closure of Delhi’s Kalindi Kunj-Shaheen Bagh stretch, court asked the Police to look into the matter in larger public interest and deal with the issue of maintaining law and order.
