“The supreme reality of our time is …the vulnerability of our planet." To reverse the damage of the planet Earth, every small ‘GREEN’ step would definitely go a long way towards a betterment of global environment. In this attempt of conserving our resources and keep the environment clean, a pioneer in the field of education and North India’s best private University – Sharda University launches “Go Green”initiative that encourages all the students who are taking admissions for next academic session in the University to plant a tree inside the Greater Noida campus. Mr. Prashant Gupta, Executive Director of Sharda University, has come up with a unique idea of ‘Go Green’ – an initiative under which each of new students enrolled with the University this year will plant a tree and nurture it through their course time. Through this initiative, the University simply aimed to foster the growth of its students and transmutes them into responsible citizens who along with fulfilling their duties at desks take pride in serving the society. The Admissions Department has extended their full support for the initiative "Go Green" that will allow the students to make all possible efforts towards a sustainable green planet so the future generations can enjoy a green planet. Furthermore, the department will allocate a SPOC to students that will guide them to the Estate Department that will identify areas best suited for the plantation of trees. Getting into the green movement In today’s modern lifestyle, people feel empathetic for the plight of trees, but are so busy in their lives that taking out time from set schedules seems impossible. Human beings depend on trees as life cannot sustain without the oxygen they produce and so, the human race must help itself and show some kindness to the environment. There are so many benefits of plants that it’s hard to mention all of them. They provide oxygen and cleanse the air judicious for breathing. In the ongoing season of monsoons, they combat diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria by preventing water pollution and soil erosion. Moreover, they enhance harmony as people from different backgrounds and ethnicities come together to plant them.Considering this, Sharda University come up with this outstanding initiative ‘Go-Green’ in the wake of such a set-up giving the students an opportunity to make this planet Earth a better place to stay and reduce the effects of global warming gradually by planting more trees. The best thing about this initiative is that it will give to the students a sense of belongingness to the campus, when they see their saplings while strolling around. For new students, it will be like an ice breaking session where they can gel along with the faculty and new mates inside the campus. Students will be properly guided about what plants to grow and will be allotted a fitting space where their plant will grow the best. They will be duly assisted so that grown plants can sustain for as long as possible.Sharda University believes it’s not enough to prepare our students for the future…we must prepare the future for them. Go Green Initiative will help us to create a campus-wide culture of conservation. Lets go green to get our globe clean!
