New Delhi: (20/06/2019) After losing all the seven seats in Delhi in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, it is now being considered that Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Sheila Dikshit can resign from her post.
In such a situation, speculation has been started about potential names. It is to be believed that Congress will bet on any young leader in Delhi this time, because Congress feels Sheila Dikshit is not giving a tough fight to Aam Aadmi Party Kejriwal and Bhartiya Janta Party’s Manoj Tiwari.
On the other hand in the Lok Sabha elections contested under the leadership of Sheila Dikshit the vote share have not only increased but rather it has overtaken AAP. In spite of this, questions are raised about the continuation of Sheila Dikshit’s for her post.
Sources say, Congress can place bet on a young leader in Delhi, then there may be two names, one from Dalit leader Rajesh Lilothia and second Devendra Yadav. There have been talks going on for both the sides. Firstly, both are young and are working with Sheela Dixit as executive chairman in Delhi.
Earlier, Taking the moral responsibility of the defeat in seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi (New Delhi, South Delhi, Western Delhi, East Delhi, Northwest Delhi, North Eastern Delhi and Chandni Chowk), State Congress President Sheila Dikshit had submitted her resignation in the month of May.
Though she left the final verdict on Rahul Gandhi. Simultaneously, Sheela has also decided to constitute a committee to review the election results. On the report of this committee, there may be a major reshuffle in the state Congress too.
