Shocking: Delhi Woman gang-raped, then paraded with face blackened, head shaved and garland of slippers

New Delhi, January 27: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gang-raped in Kasturba Nagar on Wednesday.
She was beaten, garlanded with slippers & was paraded for nearly an hour with her face blackened, head tonsured in Delhi’s Kasturba Nagar area. The accused are said to be illicit liquid sellers in the area.
On Thursday morning, Chair Person of Delhi Commission for women, Swati Maliwal said, “A woman was gang-raped by the accused, who deals in the illicit liquor business. She was made to wear a garland of shoes. Her face was blackened and she was paraded in the area. Most unfortunate incident.”
The DCW chairperson has issued a notice in connection with the matter, she said, “I am writing to Delhi Police to provide security to the woman and her family and take strong action against the accused.”
As per reports, The victim is undergoing treatment in a hospital. Her condition is stated to be stable.
Moreover, the DCW chairperson has also met the victim on Thursday at the hospital.
Maliwal said, “I met the girl. She told me how three men gang-raped her & the women standing there instigated them to rape.
She added, ”The girl has inhuman wounds on her body. The oppression of those selling illegal liquor has increased a lot. The police should tighten the noose.”
Moreover, Arvind Kejriwal in a Tweet has also urged the Union Home Minister Amit shah & Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal to instruct the police to take strict action, pay attention to the law & order situation.
He further termed it as very shameful and said Delhites won’t tolerate such heinous crimes and criminals at any cost.
Further as per reports from ANI, According to the survivor’s sister, a boy living in the neighbourhood who claimed to be in love with the woman committed suicide in November last year. “His family blames my sister for their son’s death,” she said.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
Furthermore, four women have been arrested so far in connection with the case and further probe is underway.
