Noida, June 14, 2023: Shubham Bansal, a student of Aakash BYJU’s in Noida, was initially making silly mistakes during examinations but his sincerity and willingness to follow instructions in the classroom helped him achieve his NEET goals. He scored 715 out of 720 with an AIR of 16. Hailing from a family of five where his father is a doctor himself, Shubham had no particular dreams of becoming one. However, as Covid 19 gripped the world, his views towards the contributions and responsibilities towards society moulded him to aspire for NEET and gradually join the noble profession.

Shubham joined Aakash BYJU’s in class XI through ANTHE aiming for a Physics-Chemistry- Biology combination. He appeared for Pre-Regional Mathematical Olympiad (PRMO) in Class IX and qualified for National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) Stage II as well. Due to Covid, he used to join online classes and missed a few tests towards the end of Class XI. However, as the new year started, Shubham started catching up with renewed vigour and razor sharp focus on
his ultimate goal.

Shubham was never really inclined to engineering but had a deep love for mathematics. During Covid, he realised the advantages of being a doctor over that subject especially when it comes to immediate family’s needs: His father, a psychiatrist, was hospitalised after being infected with Covid-19. His elder sister is pursuing BTech and younger sister is in school. Shubham wishes to become a surgeon in future.

For preparation, although he did not appear for JEE Mains, he solved the papers at home for practice.

Talking about his choices, Shubham says, “Since I loved math, there were moments during preparation when I almost regretted my choice of taking Biology as it was my weak subject until Class X. But I never gave myself any excuses and focussed on working hard because that was the only way forward and I kept working on it. I have had days when I studied too much and had to take a complete day off just to realign with the idea of studying. Even if I did not do well in a particular test, my parents encouraged me to prepare better for the next one instead of feeling
bad over the outcome.”

Shubham played basketball for relaxation at the stadium in front of his house or went for a sprint around the track. He also shared his study routines with his best friend Mukul to stay on track and for accountability. Shubham’s mother played an important role – she was very supportive of his dreams of becoming a doctor and kept him away from chores so that he could focus on his studies in his own room. He was even given a separate room to ensure his studies are never hindered by distractions.

At Aakash BYJU’S, Shubham found the teacher’s support meaningful and advantageous.

“During Class XI, we were doing online classes which were restrictive to an extent but when offline classes resumed I made full use of them to have my doubts cleared and gain an edge in a competitive environment through the intensive test series,” he said.

Shubham used the free time after the examinations to learn driving and get a license. He has also resumed meeting friends and relatives after a gap of 7 months.

Congratulating Shubham Bansal, Abhishek Maheshwari, CEO, Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL), said, “We congratulate the students for their exemplary feat. Jacob’s achievement speaks volumes of his hard work and dedication. The credit goes to the efforts put in by the student, proper guidance by the faculty and as well as the quality test preparation imparted at the institute. I would also like to extend our gratitude to the parents for being a constant support to their children. I wish Jacob all the best for his future endeavours.”
On the recently declared results Dr. Yash Pal, Regional Director, Aakash Educational

Services Limited (AESL), said, “We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the student for their exceptional accomplishment. Their remarkable achievement as the top scorer is a testament to their tireless hard work and unwavering dedication. We sincerely wish them the very best in all their future endeavors.

We would also like to express our deep appreciation to the faculty at Aakash BYJU’S, who tirelessly supported the student by clearing all their doubts and queries. The effective curriculum provided by Aakash BYJU'S, along with our unwavering commitment to our students, played a crucial role in this success.”
