Oct 30, 2022: South Africa handed India their first loss in the ongoing T20 World Cup, thanks to brilliant bowling spells from Wayne Parnell and Lungi Ngidi and critical knocks from Aiden Markram and David Miller.
Batting first, Indian batsmen fell prey to South Africa’s bowling attack barring Suryakumar Yadav who scored 68 runs off 40 balls. Despite Yadav’s performance, Ngidi and Parnell successfully restricted India to 133/9.
The partnership between Aiden Markram and David Miller steadied the ship as South Africa chased down the target with 2 balls to go. Markram scored 52 runs off 49 balls. Meanwhile, David Miller scored 59 runs off 46.
With this win, South Africa has now gone to the top of the table. They will next face Pakistan on 3rd November. India is set to take on Bangladesh on the 2nd at Adelaide Oval.
