Spicejet Flights Halted At Delhi Airport for Non-Payment of Dues to AAI

New Delhi, 20 May 2022: Owing to default on the payment to the AAI, SpiceJet flights were stopped at the Delhi airport on Friday.
The airline was on cash and carry basis with the AAI (Airports Authority of India) and did not make the payment a day earlier. As a result, the ATC was asked to stop all the Spicejet flights.
The airline has stated that there was a technical glitch because of which the payment failed. The cash and carry payment is imposed on airlines with weak financial backing. However, the Spicejet’s flights are in operation now, said the Spicejet Spokersperson. “Due to a technical glitch in SAP, the automatic daily payment could not be processed. The same is being made manually to AAI which has been apprised of the issue,” he added.
