St. Joseph School Celebrates 80th Independence Day with Grandeur and Patriotic Fervour

Greater Noida News (16 August 2026): St. Joseph School, Greater Noida, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with immense enthusiasm, dignity and patriotic fervour. The celebration was organised under the theme “Salute to the Soil, Honour to the Brave,” creating an atmosphere of national pride, excitement and unity across the school campus.

The programme began with a warm welcome, followed by the ceremonial hoisting of the National Flag and a formal salute. The National Anthem and patriotic slogans filled the campus with a strong sense of pride and reverence for the nation. A special prayer was also offered for the peace, prosperity and progress of the country.

The occasion was graced by Mr. Richard Ellis, Education Officer, Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi, as the Chief Guest. With more than three and a half decades of experience in the field of education, Mr. Ellis has made significant contributions to academic administration and teaching. He served for over a decade as a Postgraduate Teacher of Economics at Army Public School, Lucknow, and later held the positions of Vice-Principal at Shigally Hill International Academy, Dehradun, and Additional Principal at St. Stephen’s School, Chandigarh. He is currently serving as an Education Officer at CISCE, New Delhi.

Addressing the students, Mr. Richard Ellis delivered an inspiring message emphasising patriotism, humility, humanity and the importance of being aware of one’s responsibilities towards society and the nation. A keen admirer of literature, music, theatre, debates and public speaking, he shared his guiding philosophy: “The best service to humanity can be rendered with humility.”

The programme was attended by Principal Father Gipson Pallaty, Manager Father Andrew, Brother Satish, Sister Preema and Sister Vijaya, along with members of the school fraternity.

Students brought the spirit of India’s freedom struggle alive through a series of vibrant cultural presentations. The school choir presented a patriotic musical tribute titled “Swaranjali,” which created an inspiring atmosphere of national pride. Students from the primary classes also participated enthusiastically. The UKG students presented “Nanhe Veer,” conveying a meaningful message of courage, patriotism and dedication to the nation.

A series of colourful performances by students from different classes further enhanced the celebrations. Classes VI-D and VI-E presented “Freedom in Rhythm,” Class I-A showcased “Freedom in Movements,” Classes IV-B and IV-C presented “Azadi,” Class I-C performed “Sons of the Soil,” while Class IX-E presented “Honouring the Brave.” Each performance reflected themes of freedom, sacrifice, courage and love for the motherland.

A special address on Partition Remembrance Day was also organised to acquaint students with the history of the Partition of India, its circumstances and its far-reaching impact on society. The addresses delivered by the Principal and the Chief Guest encouraged students to understand their responsibilities and contribute positively towards the nation as responsible citizens.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks, followed by a spectacular “Grand Salute” presented by the students of Class VIII-C. Students who had performed exceptionally well in various competitions and achieved distinction in different fields were felicitated with awards in recognition of their accomplishments.

The celebrations concluded on a cheerful note with the distribution of ice cream among the students and members of the school community, adding to the festive spirit of the occasion.

The Independence Day celebration at St. Joseph School strengthened the values of patriotism, unity, respect for the brave and a sense of responsibility towards the nation among the students. The memorable celebration left everyone with a powerful message of national pride and gratitude—“Salute to the Soil and Honour to the Brave.”
