St. Joseph’s Church, Greater Noida, Celebrates Silver Jubilee with Grand Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration

Greater Noida (10 February 2025): The Priests, Religious, and Faithful of St. Joseph’s Church, Greater Noida, gathered for a grand Thanksgiving Eucharistic Celebration to mark the 25 years of St. Joseph’s Parish. The special occasion took place on Sunday, February 9 2025, with a solemn Eucharistic celebration led by His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Anil J.T. Couto, Archbishop of Delhi, as the Main Celebrant.

The event witnessed the gracious presence of His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Raphy Manjaly, His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Albert D’Souza (Archbishop Emeritus), His Grace, Most Rev. Vincent Michael Concessao (Archbishop Emeritus, Archdiocese of Delhi), and His Grace, Most Rev. Kuriakose Bharanikulangara (Archbishop of Faridabad-Delhi) as Concelebrants.

During the celebration, Archbishop Anil J.T. Couto expressed his joy and gratitude for the 25-year journey of the parish. He reflected on the significance of the church, not just as a building but as a living community of faithful believers. He emphasized that the church, filled with faith, hope, and love, truly embodies the teachings of Jesus Christ. He reminded everyone that they are the body of Christ and that their faith gives meaning to the church’s existence. He also spoke about the history of churches in North India, particularly in Delhi, and how the mission has expanded over the years from places like Agra, Okhla, Khera Kalan, and Najafgarh.

Archbishop Kuriakose Bharanikulangara, while blessing the congregation, highlighted the historical significance of St. Joseph’s Church. He reflected on his appointment and the establishment of his diocese in 2012, recalling the challenges of adapting to a new culture and language in Uttar Pradesh. He spoke about the collaboration and support he received, mentioning his association with Archbishop Albert D’Souza in inaugurating and developing the Latin Parish in Noida. He expressed gratitude for the three churches now flourishing under the guidance of the Holy Father, recognizing this as a testament to the strong Christian faith in the region.

Archbishop Raphy Manjaly also addressed the faithful, emphasizing the importance of celebrating a Jubilee with gratitude. He encouraged everyone to remember the past with thankfulness for God’s blessings, celebrate the present with enthusiasm, and step into the future with trust in God’s guidance. He stressed that the parish community should acknowledge the grace of God in all its achievements and look forward to the next 25 years with faith and hope. On this occasion, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to Father Andrew, the parish community, the parish council, children, youth, and all members for making this a meaningful and memorable celebration.
