Stalwarts of Architecture assemble at Noida International University
Greater Noida, April 1, 2019. The stalwarts of Architecture, assembled at NIU said on Monday that the field architecture must accept the challenges of present times in the creative way. Well known for travelling in her own auto the Mexican Ambassador Melba Pria said that while planning for the infrastructure of the cities we must take care of the environment as a topmost priority. Ar. Vijay Garg, President, Council of Architect said that any city will not be a smart city until it is developed on the basis human values and culture. The architect of Gautam Buddha University Ar. Dikshu said that sprituality is the identity of our nation and it should be the integral part of Indian architect.
Before this, all the Guests were welcomed by the Chairperson of the university Dr. Devesh Singh, Vice Chancellor Dr. R.D Sharma and Registrar Dr Jayanand. The Director of school of Architect talked about the school’s achievements.
After reaching the university in her own auto of its kind, Melba said that when Columbus reached America he wasn’t able to differentiate between our people and Indians because we are almost same. She said that in 1992 when the capital Mexico citywas awarded with the medal of world’s most polluted city. At that time the city and the people decided to combat pollution and we achieved success. I myself decided to travel with auto because it reduces pollution upto one tenth in comparison to AC car. India’s almost 20 cities are facing the same problem today. The citizens should come forward along with the government to make efforts.
She expressed her happiness on knowing that the students of 26 nations are studying in NIU, She said that this provides a great opportunity for intercultural communication which is very important for a better world. Contribution of women in the economic development of nation is must and in Mexico 50% of the women are financially paid for their work.
During the keynote address with the students and faculty members Ar. Vijay Garg spoke about the scope of architect in Indian education system keeping in mind the human values and historical perspectives. Architect is not only about making buildings rather it should be in the way of creating good lifestyles for people, he said. He also talked about the latest revision in the syllabus of architect and localized approach which they need to focus.
Ar. Dikshu Kukreja commemorating his father late C.P Kukrejaone of the greatest architects of modern India said that we need to inhibit our locality and culture in the morden architect. Spirituality is the core value of Indian culture and that is how the Gautam Buddha University is planned on the basis of statue of Lord Buddha. At the place of its head grand library is established while departments are developed on the concept of eight fold paths of Buddhism. Administrative buildings are developed in the place of its feet as they are meant for service.
