Supreme Court allows NDMC to auction Hotel Taj Mansingh

The Supreme Court today in New Delhi, allowed New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to E-auction Taj Mansingh hotel. Taj Mansingh hotel is currently ly run by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) of Tata group.

The apex court made clear that if Tata group losses E-auction concluding that within period of six months, Tata group will have to vacate the premises.

Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), owner of the Taj Mansingh Hotel, on November 8, 2016, approached the apex court against the Delhi High Court order, which had paved the way for auctioning of the historic property.

The firm had challenged the October verdict delivered by a bench of the Delhi High Court, which had dismissed IHCL’s petition challenging the step by the NDMC to auction the property.

Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced that an open auction of Taj Mansingh Hotel would be done.

Till now, there is no reply from IHCL on today’s issue.
