Sustainable practices and eco-friendly products displayed at IHGF Delhi Fair gain distinctive attention

Greater Noida/Delhi NCR – 19th October 2024 – The 58th IHGF Delhi Fair – Autumn 2024, being held from 16th to 20th October 2024 at the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida Expressway, is heading towards its final day with plenty of optimism. Many buyer groups and delegations have visited from major importing nations till date. Drawing big international brands, importers, wholesale biggies, sourcing agents and retail entities, the fair in its three astounding days has kept all busy with enquiries, order finalising and sample collection, defining the impetus.
Dileep Baid, Chairman, EPCH, informed, “The fair is in full swing, backed by the enthusiastic participation of our overseas buyers, buying houses, agents, and domestic volume buyers. New connections are being forged, while longstanding relationships are being revived. Buyers are exploring fresh product lines from new suppliers and innovations from familiar vendors. Several orders have already been confirmed, with more expected to be finalized in post-show follow-ups.” He added that Indian manufacturers’ sustainable practices and eco-friendly products displayed at the fair have gained distinctive attention. “EPCH’s collaborative efforts with the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, have brought out remarkable product lines that are displayed at the fair. Many visitors have stopped by and enquired about viable business possibilities in some products,” he added.
MLA from Jaipur, Rajasthan, Gopal Sharma visited 58th IHGF Delhi Fair – AUTUMN 2024 and interacted with the exhibitors and congratulated EPCH for organizing such a vast and grand show.
Member of Parliament from Moradabad, Ruchi Veera also visited the IHGF Delhi Fair and commended EPCH for the expansive fair with phenomenal exhibitor and buyer attendance.

Many are showcasing vibrant eco-friendly products, including cotton and jute lifestyle accessories, hand-painted artisanal apparel using natural dyes, decor crafted from repurposed fabric and paper, and fashion accessories made from plant fibers sourced sustainably. These offerings are generating strong interest from buyers.”
Martin Tennant a second generation buyer from UK shared, “I’ve already come across a few impressive pieces. I source products globally, but Indian products stand out for their uniqueness, materials and stories that are hard to find elsewhere. People in the UK have a great appreciation for Indian handicrafts, and their charm never fails to attract attention.” Buyer Becki from Australia added, “I frequently travel to India and have visited this show 20 times now. We are leading wholesaler of giftware and home wares in Australia and New Zealand. I come here primarily for furniture and lighting products. What keeps bringing me back is not only the exceptional craftsmanship and quality of Indian products but also their uniqueness.” For Cecil Cameron from South Africa, this a maiden visit to the IHGF Fair and so far the experience has been great for him. He says, “I work as an interior designer and my search for new ideas and inspirations has led me to India. I am focused on home decor and lighting products. There are plenty of hand crafted things that have caught my eye at the fair.”
Adding further on EPCH’s emphasis on creditworthiness of exhibitors and material integrity, Dr. Neeraj Khanna, Vice Chairman, EPCH, informed, “EPCH’s VRIKSH certification, recognized globally for promoting ‘Sustainability through Legality,’ ensures the sustainable trade of all timber species. This initiative aligns with EPCH’s mission, which is in sync with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on the interconnected environmental, social, and economic aspects of sustainable development.”

Verma, Executive Director, EPCH said, “In keeping with the significance of the prevalent topics insightful seminars were conducted today on topics like Sustainability in Action: Implementing Sustainable Design Practices by faculty from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, who has closely worked with the Indian handicrafts sector including the recent collaborative project on eco-friendly approach to manufacturing practices. Another was on trends for Fall Winter 25/26 guided attendees on upcoming trends; and yet another was on Intellectual Property Rights, Trademark Protection and Brand Identity – a very relevant topic for today’s highly competitive times.”
