New Delhi (10 March 2025): The E4M Women in Digital, Creative & Media Economy Summit is a premier gathering dedicated to celebrating, empowering, and amplifying the voices of women shaping the future of digital innovation, creative excellence, and media influence. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, women are at the forefront, redefining narratives, leading industries, and driving meaningful change. This summit brings together thought leaders, industry pioneers, and change-makers for insightful discussions, powerful networking, and transformative ideas that will shape the next era of media and creativity.
Tamanna Dhamija, CEO of Convosight, recently shared her journey of building a global AI-driven platform for community insights and the challenges she faced, including a near-death experience for her company. Speaking at an event, she reflected on her transition from a finance professional in New York to an entrepreneur empowering online communities, primarily for women.
From Finance to Community Building
In 2015, Dhamija was a portfolio manager in New York, managing funds for General Motors in a male-dominated industry. However, after becoming a mother, she envisioned creating a space for moms to learn from each other through online communities. In 2017, she moved back to India with her husband and young son to build this vision despite having no network or prior experience in technology.
Over the next few years, she created multiple Facebook groups addressing specific pain points for mothers, which soon grew into a movement. By 2020, Facebook recognized her efforts, ranking her communities in the top 0.5% globally and even funding them. Realizing the financial struggles of many women in these communities, she expanded her vision to create Convosight—a tech-driven platform aggregating Facebook groups, Reddit, and other online communities to enable financial empowerment.
Scaling and Overcoming a Near-Death Crisis
With its unique model of revenue-sharing from brand advertisements, Convosight helped thousands of community administrators—70% of whom were women—collectively earn ₹40 crore. The platform saw rapid growth, reaching a revenue trajectory of $10 million. However, in January 2024, the company faced a crisis when Facebook announced it would shut down the APIs on which Convosight’s technology was built.
This sudden change threatened the company’s survival, as many similar businesses globally shut down. Determined to find a solution, Dhamija and her team reworked their data collection strategy to keep revenues from collapsing and explored new opportunities. This led to a pivotal realization about the growing dominance of video content in consumer behavior.
Pivoting to AI-Driven Video Insights
Observing the shift towards video-first platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, Convosight pivoted to developing AI-driven video analytics. They began working on a “Video GPT” model that analyzes consumer behavior through the massive volume of videos shared daily. This new approach aims to help brands understand consumers better and create more impactful products.
Despite having no formal tech background, Dhamija credits her mindset and vision for leading the company through these challenges. Today, Convosight is close to hitting its first million dollars in revenue in this new direction, reinforcing the power of adaptability and innovation in entrepreneurship.Tamanna Dhamija’s journey from a finance professional to a tech entrepreneur highlights the resilience needed to build and sustain a startup. Her ability to navigate crises, empower communities, and adapt to evolving consumer behavior has positioned Convosight as a leader in AI-driven community insights.
As the E4M Women in Digital, Creative & Media Economy Summit concludes, we celebrate the impactful conversations, inspiring stories, and groundbreaking ideas shared today. This event is not just about recognizing achievements—it is about fostering real change, breaking barriers, and paving the way for a more inclusive and dynamic future.
