Taps running dry in 4 Noida sectors for 48 hours: Residents

For the past two days, residents of sectors 19, 20, 26 and 27 claim they have had a trying time. While there was no water supply on Wednesday, on Thursday, the supply lasted only 45 minutes.

Residents claimed that in the absence of generators, the water department could not operate pumps during power rostering in the mornings, which led to the shortage. Water department officials though denied the charges. “We have enough generators that work through the rostering and there was no shortage of supply,” said Noida Jal Nigam project engineer M P Sharma, who looks after the affected sectors.
