Tata Sons Chairman Chandrasekaran awarded with France’s Highest Civilian Award

New Delhi (India), 18th May 2023: N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, was named “Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur” by the Government f France. He was presented with the honour by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna.

The 59-year-old was honoured for his work in creating and fostering commercial ties between India and France.

Tata Group broke the news via their official Twitter account, they wrote, “Our Chairman N Chandrasekaran receives the Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur from French Minister for Europe & Foreign Affairs @MinColonna. He was conferred the highest civilian award of France for his contributions to strengthening the trade relationship between India & France.”

The French Ambassador to India Emmanuel Lenain also wrote on Twitter, “ “Dear Natrajan Chandrasekaran, you are a true friend of France.” “

Chandrasekaran was appointed chairman of Tata Sons in 2017, succeeding Cyrus Mistry, and was reappointed for a second five-year term in February 2022.

Ratan Tata, former Chairman of Tata, billionaire and philanthropist was also awarded Australia’s highest civilian honour, the Order of Honour, earlier this year, in April by Australia’s High Commissioner to India, Barry O’Farrell.
