Tech Mahindra Launches AWS Agentic AI Center of Excellence to Accelerate Enterprise Transformation

TEN NEWS NETWORK

National News (05 September 2026): Tech Mahindra has announced the launch of its AWS Agentic Process Transformation (APT) Center of Excellence (CoE), a strategic initiative focused on helping enterprises adopt and scale Agentic AI for real-world business transformation.

The new Center of Excellence brings together Tech Mahindra Business Process Services (BPS) expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure and artificial intelligence capabilities. The initiative is designed to help organisations transition from experimental AI projects and pilot programmes to scalable, production-ready solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes.

Through the AWS APT CoE, Tech Mahindra plans to develop and deploy industry-specific AI solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency, lowering costs, strengthening decision-making and shortening the time required to move AI initiatives from pilot stages into full-scale production.

Focus on enterprise-scale Agentic AI adoption

As businesses increasingly explore autonomous AI systems, the new CoE is positioned as an execution platform for organisations seeking to integrate Agentic AI into their core operations. The initiative will focus on delivering governed and scalable AI transformation across sectors such as telecommunications, healthcare, banking and financial services, retail and manufacturing.

The company said the initiative will also strengthen its collaboration with AWS and expand its ability to deliver AI-powered business transformation at an enterprise level.

Birendra Sen, President – Business Process Services, Tech Mahindra, said that while companies are rapidly investing in AI, many continue to face challenges in scaling beyond isolated pilots and fragmented use cases. He said the AWS APT CoE will combine Tech Mahindra BPS’s process knowledge with AWS-native AI capabilities to help businesses operationalise Agentic AI with improved governance, faster implementation and measurable outcomes.

Collections Guru delivers early results

The newly launched CoE is already supporting a jointly developed AI solution called Collections Guru, an Agentic AI-powered collections agent developed by Tech Mahindra and AWS.

The solution has been deployed by Target Group, a UK-based financial services outsourcing company, to modernise its arrears management operations. Built using AWS cloud and AI infrastructure, Collections Guru autonomously optimises collection strategies using Agentic AI.

According to the companies, the solution has delivered approximately 40% efficiency gains in the areas where it has been implemented. Target Group’s Chief Operating Officer, Katie Pender, said the company has seen encouraging early results following the introduction of the Collections Guru agent, including anticipated efficiency improvements of around 40%.

The solution is being positioned as an example of the type of production-grade AI offering that Tech Mahindra and AWS intend to develop and scale through the new Center of Excellence.

AWS highlights role of CoE in AI transformation

Chandra Pinapala, GSI Director, AWS, said that amid rapid technological developments, a Center of Excellence can provide a foundation for partners and customers to learn collaboratively, accelerate value creation and redesign business processes with greater confidence.

The AWS APT CoE will also support Tech Mahindra BPS’s go-to-market strategy for AWS-powered AI services. The company expects the initiative to create new opportunities with customers, establish scalable delivery models and accelerate AI engagements through sector-specific innovation.

Tech Mahindra expands focus on AI-led business operations

With enterprises increasingly looking for practical applications of generative and Agentic AI, Tech Mahindra’s latest initiative reflects a broader industry shift from experimentation towards measurable business transformation.

By combining process expertise, cloud infrastructure and autonomous AI capabilities, the AWS APT CoE is expected to help enterprises integrate AI into operational workflows while maintaining governance and scalability.

Tech Mahindra said the initiative will focus on creating solutions that can be replicated and scaled across industries, enabling organisations to improve productivity, optimise costs and enhance the overall efficiency of business processes.
