Chief Guest Neha Jain, IAS: Championing Tech-Driven Growth

Gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest was Ms. Neha Jain, IAS, Special Secretary of IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh, MD of UPDESCO, a former IBMer, and also an artist and poet. In an exclusive interaction with Ten News Network, she shared her insights on the importance of such events and the role of technology in shaping the future.

Speaking about the significance of TECHTRIX, Ms. Jain remarked, I am truly honored to be here at ITS Engineering College. TECHTRIX 2025 is an excellent platform that allows students to go beyond their academic routine and explore real-world innovation. The industry alignment being provided by the institution is commendable. Today, it’s not just about learning Android development – students need to think across platforms and domains. Events like this help in building the college’s brand and prepare students for the actual demands of the industry.

When asked about the evolving role of technology in everyday life, she emphasized, Technology, especially AI, is no longer confined to computer science. In agriculture, for example, farmers can now use mobile apps to identify crop diseases through image recognition. In healthcare, AI is improving diagnostics and radiology. Even in law enforcement, AI is being used for prison management. The UP government has also launched the ‘AI Pragya’ program to promote AI adoption. We need to embrace and integrate technology more and more into all spheres.

Offering advice to the budding innovators and engineers present, Ms. Jain shared an inspiring message, Stay hungry, stay foolish. This classic advice is more relevant today than ever. Be curious – the world is full of people ready to teach you, if you’re willing to learn. The moment you believe you know everything, your growth stops. So, keep that hunger for knowledge alive, and stay humble.

Student Innovations: Passion Meets Purpose

TECHTRIX 2025 was also a platform where many students displayed innovative solutions aimed at solving real-world problems.

Adarsh, a first-year student, showcased a coworking space management solution. He explained, Managing coworking spaces manually leads to inefficiencies in submission tracking, reception, and payments. We are developing a website to automate and streamline these tasks. Participating in this hackathon has been a great learning experience for me. Winning isn’t my primary goal – learning and gaining exposure is.

Simran Khanna from Chandigarh University introduced her team’s project on e-Governance Complaint Management, We’re working on a system to streamline public grievance redressal mechanisms. Although the journey involved sleepless nights and challenges, our motivation to contribute to society kept us going. Being only in our second year, we’re still learning, but this experience is helping us grow.

Kavya Gupta from Anand Engineering College brought forward a socially impactful idea focused on mental health support for students using AI, Our chatbot-based solution aims to help students dealing with stress, anxiety, and depression. While we’re aware that AI can’t replace emotional support from a real therapist, it can provide immediate and accessible relief. We are working hard to overcome these limitations and improve the system.

A Catalyst for Innovation

TECHTRIX 2025 was more than a technical event – it was a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the spirit of engineering. The variety of ideas and the level of enthusiasm among the participants reflect the growing culture of innovation in India’s youth. As the countdown to the future continues, events like TECHTRIX play a crucial role in building the ecosystem of entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and technological advancement.

The future is here – and it is being built one idea at a time at TECHTRIX 2025.
