To mark the occasion of International Buddha Poornima Diwas, Cultural Ministry organised a programme of celebration at the NDMC Convention Centre, including Minister of State of Culture, Tourism and Aviation Dr. Mahesh Sharma, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju.
Talking about the principles of Lord Buddha, Dr. Mahesh Sharma said that, the values of Buddha like compassion, non-violence and harmony should be adopted by everyone to overcome the hurdles of life and society.
He further said that, the festival falls in the auspicious Hindu month of Vaisakha on the day of full moon, which increases it’s significance and audacity.
He concluded by saying that, I hope people of our nation would follow principles and disciples of Lord Buddha for betterment of India and world.
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, also said, Lord Buddha is famous for his disciples and sayings which inclines us towards path of wisdom and knowledge.
