New Delhi: Thousands of Jats today on Thursday held a dharna at Jantar Mantar, demanding for quota in jobs and education.

The Jat agitation for quota reservation reached Delhi today with thousands of community members from the northern states descending at Jantar Mantar to extend support to the movement in Haryana.

Heavy security were deployed at major roads for managing the protesters reaching the spot.

“This Jat Nyay Dharna is basically to seek the justice for the community members in Haryana and highlight our quota demand,” said a protester Narendra Dabhas, a resident of Haryana who says this agitation will not end until the government will accept it.

“We are going to submit a memorandum on the quota issue to the President and the Prime Minister,” he said.

Another protester Jitendra said that Haryana government has failed to pass the bill now it’s up to Central government which can pass our demands.

“Today BJP is telling other side during opposition they insisted us for agitation,” he said.

“During the role of congress our reservation bill was passed in 2014 but BJP Stopped it from passing out,” he added.
As many as 30 people were killed and property worth crores was damaged at many places in Haryana during last year’s violent Jat stir.
