Thousands of people perform Yoga in New Delhi to mark the World Yoga Day on June 21

To mark the World Yoga Day on June 21, around 10,000 people participated in the Yoga exercise with Union minister M Venkaiah Naidu, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal. Member of Parliament from New Delhi constituency Meenakshi Lekhi and Union Sports Minister, Vijay Goel, NDA’s presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind were also seen at the occasion and also performed the Yoga with many others.

 

Yoga programmes were held at Cannuaght Place, Lodhi Garden, Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden and India Gate. People were seen fully dressed for the Yoga exercise with their shining mats.

 

Union Minister, M Venkaiah Naidu urged everyone to practice Yoga daily for a fruitful life and said, happy International Yoga to one and all, make yoga a part of your daily life to experience the tranquility of mind, body & spirit.

 

Workers and Volunteers from several institutions and organisations like Patanjali Yoga Peetha, Art of Living, Maa Shakti, Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vidyalaya, Gayatri Pariwar, Moraji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), the Delhi Police, the NDMC, the CISF, the CRPF, the BSF, the ITBP, the Walking Volunteers and public participated in the Yoga exercise.
