Trial Runs on Noida-Gr Noida Metro line begins, likely to operational by November!

Greater Noida: Finally one of the most awaited metro rail project of Noida – Greater Noida Region is completed now. On Monday, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) conducted metro trial over the 29.71km metro rail route from sector 71 to Greater Noida Depot which is also the longest metro rail route in NCR.

The Metro Project was started in November 2014 and in the year 2015 DMRC was also included in this big project. The DMRC already done a trial run on a 23km stretch of the route on 25th July.

Now it is expected that in October PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the metro route and thereafter from November services will be available for public. Everything to be in perfect shape NMRC officers had also started preparations for that.

During the trials all the senior officials from DMRC and NMRC were present. They closely monitored all the technical and minor details, During the trial, train was halted over 21 proposed stations.

Under the monitoring of ORDCO. speed of the train was also measured to insure that whether a train can attain the speed of 72 to 80 km per hour while commuting between two stations.

In October officers will place the details in front of commissioner of metro railway safety (CMRS) for getting the approval for making metro services operational.
All Metro stations on the line will have hi-tech escalators, stairs, lifts and separate entry/exit for the differently abled.

The Metro stations are in sectors 52, 51, 50, 78, 81, Dadri Road, sectors 83, 137, 142, 143, 144, 147, 153, 149, Knowledge Park 2, Knowledge Park 1, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1, Alpha 2, Delta 1 and Depot station. Around 20km of the line is located in Noida and the remaining in Greater Noida. The 29.71km Noida-Greater Noida link is estimated to have a footfall of 1.2 lakh a day, which will gradually rise to 4 lakh by 2031.
