Trin-Trin CM calling! When CMO called land-line of GB Nagar DM office

(04/05/2017) Greater Noida : Change in state government regime every five years or so brings along with it a series of surprises and unique operational features.
Erstwhile CM Mayawati was once quite renowned for her surprise checks and on-spot suspensions. Akhilesh on the other hand remained rather soft on bureaucracy for larger part of his tenure.
Yogi Adityanatah indeed is busy making headlines since first day of assuming office. CM has recently instructed all administrative officials to be present at their offices from 09:00 am in the morning. To ensure that his directive is being followed by all CM office has also warned that CM can any time call any district official at their land-line. It is being expected that concerned official should be immediately reachable on the land-line or a valid reason for some official engagement should be provided, which would be cross-checked as well.
Reportedly one such call came at GB Nagar District Magistrate office on Tuesday morning around 09:30 am. The person on the other side introduced himself to be speaking from CM office and asked to speak to DM. District Magistrate Brijesh Narayan Singh was at that time was president over a meeting in another office.
On being informed of home being unavailable due to meeting, his CUG number was asked upon.
Officials from different departments have become extremely vigilant and more punctual after news of this call spread through the circles.
General public has appreciated this initiative and is of opinion that such surprise calls would ensure availability of concerned officials in their office at right time and would make them more approachable.
