Agartala, 02nd July 2023: The Tripura Assembly speaker, Biswabandhu Sen, confirmed that the four-day monsoon session of the state Assembly would commence on July 7.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy said the budget for the current fiscal year would be tabled on the first day of the monsoon session.
Despite the budget session being held in March, Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy could not table the budget for the fiscal year 2023-24 due to Assembly elections in February and March, according to Sen.
“The state assembly’s four-day monsoon session begins on July 7, and the finance minister will present the budget for the current fiscal year on the first day,” Sen confirmed.
The speaker added that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill and the Tripura Association would also be tabled in the session. He added that the session would last 5 days after the Opposition parties demanded the same.
