Washington, 09th June 2023: Donald Trump has been Indicted over his handling of sensitive papers after leaving office, the US ex-president faces his most serious legal challenge yet, as a firestorm of criminal investigations jeopardises his drive for a second term.
He blamed the ‘corrupt Biden administration’ for the indictment and added that the move was over the Boxes hoax. While there was no confirmation from the Justice Department regarding the same, if confirmed, this would mark a historic move in the US Presidency.
It makes the first time a US President, sitting or former, ever facing federal charges. Sources confirm that the former US leader has been indicted on seven charges, including the willful retention of documents in violation of the Espionage Act, making false statements, obstruction of justice and a count of conspiracy.
The conspiracy charge is further reported to being related to obstruction of justice. The leader took to his own social media platform, Truth Social and added that he had been summoned to a federal courthouse in Miami next Tuesday.
‘I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former President of the United States,’ he remarked.
