New Delhi, 9 October 2022: Two workers allegedly died, while six others sustained injuries following their fall from a scaffolding at a construction site in Terminal 1 of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.
Vikash, 30, and Manoj, 19, were identified as the deceased. After being brought to Safdarjung Hospital, the injured were eventually discharged.
The DCP, IGI Airport, Tanu Sharma stated that we learned about the incident from the hospital at about 10.15 p.m. At Terminal 1, the workers were hurt after falling from a height. Manoj passed away while receiving treatment, while Vikash was pronounced brought dead.
The police also reported that contractor Mintu Yadav is in charge of the work being done at Terminal 1. Ramsharan, Mintu’s older brother, was reportedly present at the scene of the event. He is in charge of overseeing the scaffolding project.
The DCP stated, “Further investigation is under progress. We have launched a case charging with causing harm by act endangering human life, Causing death by negligence against the contractor.
