Why should you visit the Auto Expo 2014?

The 12 Auto Expo 2014 will showcase some of the latest technology and concepts from the world of automobiles. More than 20 car launches, and 10 facelifts are expected. It also serves as a forum for auto manufacturers to flex their R&D muscle.

The event is organized by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Is that all?

The Auto Expo is a platform for local players as well, to showcase their new designs and their ‘mods’ to existing vehicles. It does come with its share of entertainment and celebrities have always been an integral part of the Auto Expo.

When does the Auto Expo begin?

It begins on 7 February, 2014 (Friday), ends 11 February (Tuesday).

Where is it happening?

The Auto Expo will happen at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, Delhi.

How much do I have to pay for the tickets?

There are two tickets – Rs 200 and Rs 500. During the business hours, 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, the tickets cost Rs 500 while it is Rs 200 after 1:00 pm. On weekends, the 8 and 9 of February, only Rs 500 tickets will be made available.

What are the most anticipated launches?

Honda City diesel will be the most sought after. After Amaze’s success, Honda will hope to cash in on its ‘diesel’ success. Other important launches include the new version of Maruti’s A-Star, SX4’s successor; Honda’s Vezel, new Jazz, Mobilio; the Datsun Go; Hyundai’s compact SUV; Tata’s new concept hatch and sedan; and the Audi A3.

The bikers will have more to look forward to. Bajaj is expected to launch Pulsar 375 and Honda will showcase its CBR300RR. Expect other foreign brands to showcase their quarter-litre offerings as well, the KTM RC360 and the Suzuki Inazuma250S.
