New Delhi, Sep 03, 2023: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has called for a “national mission” to eliminate dynastic politics in India in the wake of controversial remarks made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the son of MK Stalin, regarding Sanatana Dharma.

Chandrasekhar, the Union Minister of State for Electronics and Technology, stated that dynasties in Indian politics have enriched themselves at the expense of the poor and vulnerable, emphasizing the need for change. He voiced his views on Twitter, saying, “It must become a national mission – a mission for all Indians to rid our country and our politics of these shameless exploitative dynasty families of UPA/INDIA.”

Chandrasekhar accused these dynasties of accumulating wealth while keeping the people poor and vulnerable. He criticized their alleged corruption and parasitic behavior, suggesting that they create divisive narratives and abuse faith for their own gain.

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s recent statement, in which he equated Sanatana Dharma with harmful diseases and called for its eradication, has sparked controversy. BJP leaders have criticized him for intolerance and hate speech, accusing him of calling for the genocide of India’s population that follows Sanatana Dharma.

While the Congress party distanced itself from Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks, BJP leaders called for a strong response against such statements. The controversy highlights the ongoing political tensions between different parties in India.

The BJP and the DMK, a member of the INDIA bloc, are gearing up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, where they will be competing against each other. Amidst these political clashes, concerns over divisive rhetoric and its impact on social harmony remain a significant issue.
