Greater Noida News (14th September 2025): The Government Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), Greater Noida, is set to host a high-profile visit by the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Brajesh Pathak, on Monday, September 15, 2025. The visit marks an important step forward in the expansion of healthcare infrastructure in Gautam Buddh Nagar and adjoining regions.
According to officials, Brajesh Pathak will inaugurate two state-of-the-art diagnostic facilities – a 128-slice CT Scan machine and a digital X-ray system – that are expected to significantly strengthen the institute’s diagnostic capabilities and provide faster, more accurate services to patients.
In addition, the Deputy CM will conduct an on-site inspection of the 100-bedded Critical Care Block, which is currently under construction under the Ayushman Bharat–Health Infrastructure Mission (AB-BHIM). The project is part of a broader expansion plan that also includes the establishment of a full-fledged medical college, nursing college, and new hospital buildings on 56 acres of land recently allotted to GIMS by the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA). This allocation had earlier received the approval of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, underscoring the government’s commitment to transforming GIMS into a major hub of medical education and tertiary healthcare.
Brigadier (Dr.) Rakesh K. Gupta, Director of GIMS, stated that preparations are in full swing for the Deputy CM’s visit. He said, We are working to ensure that the program is conducted seamlessly. The inauguration of advanced diagnostic machines and review of the upcoming Critical Care Block will be a milestone for the institute and the community it serves.
Healthcare experts believe the upcoming expansions will significantly reduce the pressure on Delhi hospitals, offering advanced medical care closer to residents of Noida, Greater Noida, and nearby districts. The new diagnostic equipment is expected to cut waiting times for patients, while the proposed Critical Care Block aims to enhance critical and emergency medical response capacity.
The visit by the Deputy CM is being seen as a reaffirmation of the state government’s focus on upgrading medical infrastructure and expanding access to advanced healthcare across Uttar Pradesh.
