Greater Noida, 9th June 2023: Uttar Pradesh government and India Expo Mart are gearing up to host the highly anticipated International Trade Show, scheduled to take place from 21st to 25th September later this year.

On Friday, a Road Show was organized to generate enthusiasm for the upcoming trade show in September while highlighting its remarkable features. Distinguished dignitaries emphasized the significant opportunities that the Trade Show would present to the budding industries in UP.

The event was graced by Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary of MSME & Export Promotion, who served as the chief guest along with Pranjal Yadav, Secretary MSME of the UP government, and Mannan Akhtar, Special Secretary of the Medical Health and Family Welfare Department. The event was joined by over 100 business leaders from different industries.

In his opening remarks, Pranjal Yadav highlighted the trade show’s purpose: to foster connections between businesses and investors. The event would feature sector-specific panels and innovative showcases, facilitating impactful B2B interactions.

Yadav also emphasized the booming industry potential in UP, fueled by favorable demographics and a working-age population that constitutes 60% of the state’s inhabitants. UP stands as the third-largest economy in the country and ranks fifth among the leading exporting states. The state’s success in the handicraft industry can be attributed to government schemes and the innate artistic talent prevalent throughout UP.

Secretary Yadav highlighted that each district in the state specializes in a particular art form, such as the renowned marble work in Agra and exquisite Zardosi embroidery, among others. The One District, One Product scheme, initially initiated in Uttar Pradesh and now expanded nationwide, stands as a testament to the state’s commitment to promoting and preserving its rich artistic heritage.

Chief guest Amit Mohan Prasad drew attention to the substantial investments worth 35 lakh crores that the state has attracted as a result of previous investment summits, underscoring the potential held by such forums and platforms. Prasad also commended the state government for its numerous schemes and investments across various fields, including medicine, pharmaceuticals, and business. He emphasized that these initiatives represent the crucial next step in business expansion: finding and accessing markets.

The Trade Show’s annual organization stems from the state’s dedication to providing access to diverse markets and connecting small industries with consumers, thereby fulfilling Chief Minister Adityanath’s vision of making UP a USD 1 trillion economy. This goal aligns with the national objective of propelling India into a USD 5 trillion economy.

Prasad further announced the state government’s plans to launch an accidental insurance scheme for micro-entrepreneurs. This scheme aims to promote the establishment of private MSMEs in districts by providing financial assistance at an annual interest rate of 1% for three years.

During the event, Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, India Expo Mart presented the framework for the September Trade Show, reiterating its focus on showcasing the range of products manufactured in the state and enhancing their potential. Kumar also highlighted the diverse and exciting programs that attendees can look forward to. He expressed his belief that the participation of heads of various organizations at this preliminary event would greatly expand the Trade Show’s reach and impact.

The five-day program will serve as a platform not only for the MSME department but also for various other departments under the Uttar Pradesh government. These departments include tourism, GI productions, skill development, handloom, handicrafts, and entrepreneurial ventures, all of which will be prominently showcased throughout the Trade Show.
