UP is the largest milk-producing state in India: Yogi Adityanath at Inauguration of World Dairy Summit 2022

Greater Noida, Sept 12, 2022: World’s largest dairy conference, World Dairy Summit(WDS) 2022 was inaugurated on Monday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
A three-day event led by the International Dairy Federation(IDF), WDS aims to provide a platform for Indian and global dairy processors, manufacturers, and farmers to share ideas, expertise, new technologies, and the latest developments in the dairy sector.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in his speech lauds the efforts of PM Modi towards the progress of the Indian dairy industry.
“I express my deepest gratitude to PM Modi for building a global platform for the dairy sector and for selecting Uttar Pradesh for the same”, he said.
Talking about his home state, Yogi notes that U.P. is not only the most populated state in India, but it also contributes to 16-18% of the total milk production in India.
“Uttar Pradesh produces almost 319 lakh MTPA of milk”, he remarked.
He further mentions the uniqueness of India’s animal husbandry system. “Animal husbandry in India is as important as dairy production. The Indian government is making constant efforts to further develop both the sectors”, the CM said.
Adityanath remarks that the U.P. government is forming and implementing new policies which aim to help and uplift the small-business owners, dairy farmers, producers, etc.
He also notes that the Indian government is looking after the dairy and poultry animals of the country as well.
“Vaccination programs are being held in several parts of the country to ensure the health of the animals”, he said.
Lastly, CM Adityanath adds that all farmers, processors, and leaders who strive towards producing safe and sustainable dairy products will be given all the help they need from the U.P. Government, under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi.
