Greater Noida News (31 January 2026): Uttar Pradesh has taken a significant step forward in strengthening India–Japan cooperation with the conclusion of a four-day official visit by Junichi Ishidera, Vice-Governor of Japan’s Yamanashi Prefecture. The high-level visit, facilitated by Invest UP, focused on expanding strategic collaboration in green energy, sustainable infrastructure and industrial development.

Leading a 12-member delegation of senior government officials, policy advisors and representatives from Kanadevia Corporation, Ishidera held a series of engagements with the Uttar Pradesh government, including discussions with the Chief Minister. The interactions underscored mutual interest in long-term partnerships aligned with clean energy transition and environmentally responsible growth.

A key outcome of the visit was Yamanashi Prefecture’s strong interest in Uttar Pradesh’s rapidly evolving biofuel and renewable energy ecosystem. During detailed deliberations at the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA), the Japanese delegation explored the feasibility of setting up a Green Hydrogen-based biofuel facility in the YEIDA region.

According to officials, the proposed project is being considered in Sector 10 of the Yamuna Expressway area, with an estimated land requirement of around 10 acres. The facility is envisioned to be powered by integrated solar energy, ensuring compliance with global sustainability standards and reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s commitment to green industrial practices.

The delegation was formally received by Alok Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh and Chairman, YEIDA, along with R.K. Singh, Chief Executive Officer, YEIDA. Senior YEIDA officials, including ACEO Nagendra Pratap and ACEO Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, were also present. Shailendra Kumar Bhatia briefed the delegation on the pace of development in the YEIDA region, highlighting infrastructure readiness and policy support for investors.

Japanese officials were apprised of the rapid progress of the upcoming Jewar International Airport and the surrounding industrial corridors, which are emerging as key hubs for global manufacturing and logistics. Following the presentations, the delegation undertook on-site inspections of Sector 10 and Sector 29 to assess infrastructure, connectivity and development potential.

Commenting on the visit, Alok Kumar said that the interest shown by Yamanashi Prefecture reflects growing international confidence in Uttar Pradesh’s investment climate. He noted that collaboration in Green Hydrogen aligns with the state’s broader vision of building a sustainable, future-ready industrial economy.

The visit concluded on a positive note, with the Japanese delegation agreeing to submit a detailed proposal outlining the scale of investment, land requirements and expected employment generation. Officials described the engagement as a strong foundation for a long-term partnership that could position Uttar Pradesh as a key destination for global green energy investments.
