Urvashi Rautela to Star in Parveen Babi’s Biopic, says ‘will make her Proud’

Mumbai (India), 4th June 2023: Urvashi Rautela, model-turned-actor, is reportedly set to star in a biopic based on the life of Parveen Babi. On Sunday, Rautela turned to social media to share a brief tribute to the late actor, claiming that ‘Bollywood failed Parveen Babi’ in her caption.

The video includes a message in Hindi about Babi, stating that the actor’s professional life was as much in the news as her personal life. It went on to say that the biopic would dive into the same subject. The note listed Wasim S Khan as the director and Dhiraj Mishra as the writer. It also features the submission logo of the Screenwriter Associations.

She wrote, “Bollywood Failed #ParveenBabi but I will make you proud #PB ~ UR Om Namah Shivay. Trust the magic of new beginnings.”

Urvashi Rautela previously stated that she was in Cannes for the photocall launch of the Parveen Babi biopic in 2023. However, she did not discuss the picture during her time at the famous film festival.

Parveen Babi, known for her roles in films such as Amar Akbar Anthony, Deewar, Shaan, and Namak Halaal, among others, died in 2005 from multiple organ failure. Kangana Ranaut’s Woh Lamhe was also inspired by the late star.
