Valediction Programme of Disaster Response Volunteer’s (DRVs) Training Programme in NGY (Gautam Budh Nagar District)

The Volunteers Training Programme organized by the Disaster Management Cell (DMC), Noida from Sept 23 to 30, 2016 in association with Shuttl (Technical & Logistics partner) and Policy Perspectives Foundation (Knowledge partner) has received an overwhelming response from the community and the students. Master trainers of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) imparting Life Saving Skills Training to the volunteers so that they can be prepared to help themselves, their family and the larger community in case of any disaster or emergency.

A total of 547 volunteers have been trained till date out of which 297 were female volunteers, a surprising 54% participation by the female volunteers. Senior citizens and young students also very enthusiastically participated in the training. DMC Noida had targeted to train only 500 community volunteers in the first phase but with overwhelming interest, enthusiasm and passion of volunteers for this training the targeted number has already been crossed and 60 more volunteers are going to be trained tomorrow as Faculty Members of the Degree College, Sector 39, Noida has also requested DMC, Noida to provide them with the life saving training tomorrow.

The valedictory session of the training programme is being held at Sector 39, Degree College on Sept 30, 2016 at 09:00 AM onwards. Valedictory session would be presided by Shri N. P. Singh, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar. The results of successful participants would be declared at the venue and a First Aid Kit, Volunteers Dress (T-shirts & Cap), Certificate and a carry bag would
be given to a few successful participants by the district magistrate. Later, these items will be provided to all successful volunteers by the DMC, Noida.
