Vande Bharat Express in Agra Faces Stone Pelting, Glass Broken, Investigation Underway

Agra, July 27, 2023: In a concerning incident, stones were hurled at the Vande Bharat Express running from Bhopal to Delhi’s Nizamuddin station in Agra Railway Division on Wednesday, resulting in the shattering of a coach’s window glass.

The incident occurred between Mania and Jajau stations of Agra Railway Division, and the impact of the stone pelting was felt on seat number 13-14 of the C-7 coach.

Upon receiving the information, the railway authorities promptly responded, sending a team to assess the situation. Fortunately, no passengers sustained any injuries during the unfortunate event.

Prashasti Srivastava, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Agra Railway Division, confirmed that an investigation into the matter is currently underway.

Authorities are taking the incident seriously and are determined to get to the bottom of it.

Disturbingly, this is not the first instance of such an incident involving the Vande Bharat Superfast Express train on its route between Bhopal and Nizamuddin station.

Stone pelting has been reported earlier as well, raising concerns about the safety and security of passengers on this popular route.

The Agra Railway Division, along with other relevant authorities, is looking into the matter with utmost urgency to identify the perpetrators and prevent any such incidents from recurring in the future.
