New Delhi (India), 18th May 2023: Flipkart, Walmart’s e-commerce behemoth, is apparently suffering a wave of high-level departures. According to sources, Adarsh Menon, who presently works as Senior Vice President (SVP) and Head of New Businesses, including Shopsy, Cleartrip, and ReCommerce, is leaving the company.

Menon has been in his present position for almost ten months, having previously worked as SVP and Head of Flipkart Wholesale and Walmart India for nearly a year. According to his LinkedIn profile, Menon has been with Flipkart for over eight years.

Along with Menon, two other senior employees are rumoured to be leaving Flipkart. After nearly nine years at the company, Chanakya Gupta, the Vice President (VP) of Strategic Partnerships and D2C Brand Accelerator (Flipkart Boost) are reportedly leaving.

Gupta formerly held the post of VP and Head of Private Brands, and prior to joining Flipkart, he worked for Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) for roughly nine years.

Menon, like Gupta, worked for HUL before joining Flipkart.

Ravish Kumar Sinha, SVP, is also rumoured to be leaving Flipkart. Sinha oversaw the Fulfilment Service Group and the Central Functions Group. He was also in charge of improving the customer experience and driving growth.

The departures come as Flipkart said that it will purchase back employee stock options (ESOP) worth around $700 million from employees as part of its strategy to divest full ownership of payments and financial services upstart PhonePe in order to retain talent.
