“We Are Targeting 300 Major American Buyers for the Next IHGF Delhi Fair”: Dr. Neeraj Vinod Khanna, EPCH Chairman

Greater Noida News (17/10/2026): The 62nd IHGF Delhi Fair – Autumn 2026, held at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida from October 13 to 17, witnessed strong participation from international buyers, domestic clients and buying agents. Dr. Neeraj Vinod Khanna, Chairman of the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) and CEO of Nodi Exports, expressed satisfaction with the response, stating that business activity at the fair exceeded expectations.

In an interview with Ten News Network, Dr. Khanna highlighted the growing interest of international buyers in Indian handicrafts and outlined EPCH’s plans to expand participation and create new opportunities for exporters in the upcoming edition.

Over 4,500 International Buyers Registered by Day Four

According to Dr. Khanna, the fair attracted buyers from several countries, including those invited from India’s Free Trade Agreement (FTA) partner countries. By the fourth day, more than 4,500 international buyers, over 2,000 domestic clients and more than 1,100 buying agents had registered for the event.

He said exhibitors were satisfied with the response and that substantial business had been generated during the fair. The participation reflected the importance of the IHGF Delhi Fair as a platform connecting Indian handicraft manufacturers and exporters with buyers from global markets.

EPCH Extends Support to Small Exporters and Artisans

Highlighting EPCH’s efforts to strengthen the handicrafts sector, Dr. Khanna said the council works to help artisans become exporters and supports small exporters in expanding their businesses.

For the current edition, EPCH provided affordable exhibition space and a subsidy of ₹6,000 per square metre to exhibitors. According to Dr. Khanna, this support enabled participating businesses to invest more in product development, innovative designs, booth presentation and buyer hospitality.

He noted that these initiatives helped improve the overall presentation and quality of the fair while making participation more accessible to smaller businesses.

EPCH Targets More Than 300 Major American Buyers for March 2027 Fair

Discussing the next edition, Dr. Khanna announced that the upcoming IHGF Delhi Fair is scheduled to take place from March 15 to 19, 2027.

He identified the United States as a key target market and revealed EPCH’s goal of attracting more than 300 major American companies to the next edition. The council is working to strengthen international buyer participation and expand business opportunities for Indian handicraft exporters.

Dr. Khanna also said EPCH aims to provide additional exhibition space for new exporters in future editions, allowing more businesses to showcase their products and connect with international buyers.

Message to Gen Z: Explore Opportunities in Handicraft Exports

Encouraging young entrepreneurs to enter the handicrafts export sector, Dr. Khanna said EPCH offers guidance and training to help newcomers understand the export business.

Its educational programmes and support services cover several aspects of exporting, including export procedures, company registration, international design trends, shipping, banking regulations and government rules.

He urged young people interested in establishing export businesses to connect with EPCH and make use of the information, training and assistance available through the council’s official website.
