With 757 new cases, UP’s Covid-19 tally crosses 26K, Bihar imposes Rs 50 fine for not wearing mask

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 4, 2020: With the state recording 772 new cases in last 24 hours, the Uttar Pradesh’s Covid-19 tally has reached at 26,554.

As of today, there are 7,627 active cases in the state and there have been 24 more deaths in the state, since yesterday.

Sharing details of the recent developments, Uttar Pradesh Principal Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad told reporters, “In the last 24 hours, 772 new #COVID19 positive cases have been reported in the state. There are 7,627 active cases, 18154 discharges so far and 773 patients have succumbed to the infection.”

Earlier in the day, UP’s Rural Development Minister Rajendra Pratap Singh (Moti Singh) and his wife were also tested positive for Covid-19 and were admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow.

In Noida also the cases of Covid-19 positive are continuously on a rise. On Saturday also 13 children in juvenile home were found infected with the virus. All these were admitted in isolation ward soon after their report came to light.

Meanwhile, in order to impose strict social distancing norms and wearing masks in public, Bihar government has today announced to impose a fine of Rs 50 on the offenders who are found not wearing masks at public places in the state.

In related news, Arunachal Pradesh government has also announced a week-long total lockdown in Itanagar capital complex from July 6 amid rising covid-19 cases.
