Women are the real leaders of India’s dairy sector: PM Narendra Modi at World Dairy Summit

Greater Noida (12/09/2022): IDF’s World Dairy Summit, a three-day event being held at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida was inaugurated on Monday by the Prime Minister of India.

 

Dignitaries including Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Parshuttom Rupala, President of the International Dairy Federation(IDF), Piercristiano Brazzale were present at the inauguration ceremony.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address motivated the dairy producers and pointed out that all the Indian and global leaders, manufacturers, and farmers of dairy products are present under one roof.

 

“I am sure that this Summit would be a great forum for the exchange of ideas, new technology, expertise, and the latest developments”, he said.

Specially highlighting the efforts of women in the sector, PM said that the women workforce amounts to a remarkable 70% in the dairy sector. “The Indian dairy industry notably consists of women who work day and night- the mothers, sisters, and daughters of the nation”, Modi said.

 

“India is one of the few countries in the world which produces safe and sustainable dairy products”, the PM said.

Concluding his address, PM Modi noted that India is constantly progressing, inspiring, and developing to improve the lives of people.
